Kira Sano (she/her) is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Studies, B.A. in NGOs and Social Change, and minor in Data Analytics. She has conducted various social science research focused on exploring how environmental movements/philosophies (particularly intersectional environmentalism and ecofeminism) and public engagement campaigns can encourage pro-environmental behaviors. Further, she’s interested in community engagement and narrative empowerment through video games—researching existing video games, virtual reality, and augmented reality in education and engagement with environmental topics. Kira is inspired by her work leading a program with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, grassroots organizing and engaging youth and young professionals. She’s particularly drawn to our goal of challenging racism in the intersection of climate change, health, and education.
